Quarter One:    The starting quarterbacks would be Tom Brady for New England and Eli Manning for New York.  The Patriots would win the coin toss and elect to defer to the second half.  The Giants would start on offense at their own 23 yard line.  The first play of the game for the New York Giants would be Ahmad Bradshaw would rush for no gain.  Eli Manning would find Pascoe with a gain of 4 yards to get to the 27 yard line.  Eli Manning would then find Cruz with a gain of 8 yards to get to the 35 yard line.  Manning would then find Ballard with a gain of 9 yards to get to the 44 yard line.  Manning would later find Nicks with a gain of 19 yards to get the Giants to the Patriots 33 yard line.  Eli Manning would then be sacked by Brandon Deaderick causing a loss of -2 yards pushing the Giants back to the New England 35 yard line.  Bradshaw would then lose -1 yard pushing the Giants back to the Patriots 36 yard line.   The drive would end as Eli Manning would be sacked by Marc Anderson causing a loss of -6 yards forcing the Giants to punt.  The Patriots would get the ball for the first time on their own 6 yard line.  The first play of the game for the Patriots offense would be Tom Brady dropping back to pass in the end zone and throw an incomplete pass down field.  The ruling on the field would be intentional grounding as the pass came from the end zone and the Giants would take the lead on a safety making the score (2-0) New York.  The Giants would get the ball back on their own 22 yard line after a Zoltan Mesko 62 yard punt.  Manning would find Hynoski with a gain of 13 yards to get to the 35 yard line.  Manning to Ware would gain 8 yards getting New York to the 43 yard line.  Bradshaw would then rush for a gain of 24 yards to get down to the New England 33 yard line.  Manning would then find Ware with a gain of 6 yards to get to the Patriots 27 yard line.  Manning would then find Pascoe with a gain of 9 yards to get to the 18 yard line of New England.  Cruz would later fumble a Manning pass that would be recovered by the Patriots but the Patriots would be penalized for having 12 men on the field on defense so the Giants would keep the ball at the New England 11 yard line.  Eli Manning would later cap off the 9 play 78 yard 5:28 drive by throwing a 2 yard touchdown pass to Cruz and with Laurence Tynes extra point the score would be (9-0) New York.  The Patriots would get the ball back on their own 29 yard line.  BenJarvis Green-Ellis would lose -1 yard pushing the Patriots back to their own 26 yard line.  Tom Brady would then find BenJarvis Green-Ellis with a gain of 7 yards to get to the 33 yard line.  Tom Brady would then find Deion Branch with a gain of 15 yards to get to the 50 yard line at midfield.  Tom Brady would then find Wes Welker with a gain of 19 yards to get the Patriots down to the New York 31 yard line.  BenJarvis Green-Ellis would then rush for a gain of 4 yards to get to the Giants 27 yard line.  Tom Brady would then find Wes Welker with a gain of 10 yards to get to the Giants 17 yard line as the quarter came to an end.   

 

Quarter Two:   Tom Brady would then find Aaron Hernandez with a gain of 2 yards to get to the New York 15 yard line.  BenJarvis Green-Ellis would then rush for a gain of 4 yards to get to the 11 yard line of the Giants.  Stephen Gostkowski would cap off the 10 play 60 yard 4:36 drive by kicking a 29 yard field goal making the score (9-3) New York.  The Giants would get the ball back on their own 20 yard line.  Jacobs would later rush for a gain of 11 yards to get to the 31 yard line.  Jacobs would later gain 4 more yards to get to the 35 yard line.  Manning would then find Nicks with a gain of 18 yards to get to the New England 47 yard line.  An illegal substitution penalty on the Giants would push them back to their own 48 yard line.  Manning would find Bradshaw with a gain of 11 yards to get to the New England 41 yard line but the Giants would ultimately be forced to punt.  The Patriots would get the ball back on their own 20 yard line.  Danny Woodhead would later rush for a gain of 3 yards to get to the 23 yard line.  Tom Brady would find Wes Welker with a gain of 6 yards to get to the 29 yard line.  The Patriots would have to punt.  The Giants would get the ball back on their own 23 yard line.  Bradshaw would rush for a gain of 5 yards to get to the 28 yard line.  Manning would then find Hynoski with a gain of 6 yards getting to the 34 yard line.  Bradshaw would then rush for 3 yards to get to the 37 yard line.  Bradshaw would then add 8 yards to get to the 45 yard line.  Manning would then find Bradshaw with a gain of 8 yards to get to the New England 47 yard line.  Jacobs would later rush for a gain of 10 yards to get to the 36 yard line of the Patriots.   The Giants would later be flagged for holding pushing them back to the Patriots 46 yard line.  The Giants would have to punt.  New England would get the ball back on their own 4 yard line.  A false start on the Patriots would push them back to their own 2 yard line.  Tom Brady would then find Wes Welker for 7 yards to get to the 9 yard line.  Danny Woodhead would then rush for a gain of 6 yards to get to the 15 yard line.  Tom Brady would then find Rob Gronkowski with a gain of 20 yards to get to the 35 yard line.  Danny Woodhead would then rush for a gain of 4 yards to get to the 39 yard line.  Tom Brady would then find Aaron Hernandez with a gain of 10 yards to get to the 49 yard line.  Brady would find Hernandez again, this time for 8 yards to get to the New York 43 yard line.  Tom Brady would then find Danny Woodhead with a gain of 7 yards to get to the 36 yard line of the Giants.  The Patriots would then be flagged for holding pushing them back to their own 47 yard line.  Tom Brady would then find Aaron Hernandez with a gain of 8 yards to get to the New York 45 yard line.  Brady would then find Hernandez with a gain of 12 yards to get to the 33 yard line of the Giants.  Tom Brady would later find Wes Welker with a gain of 10 yards to get to the New York 22 yard line.  Tom Brady would then find Danny Woodhead with a gain of 11 yards to get down to the New York 11 yard line.  Brady to Woodhead would gain 8 more yards to get down to the 3 yard line of the Giants.  Tom Brady would later cap off the 14 play 96 yard 3:55 drive by throwing a 4 yard touchdown pass to Danny Woodhead and with Stephen Gostkowski’s extra point the score would be (10-9) Patriots.  The Giants would get the ball back on their own 26 yard line.  With 0:04 left in the half, Eli Manning would take a knee to run out the clock.

 

Quarter Three:  The Patriots would get the ball first to open the half.  New England would start on their own 21 yard line.  Tom Brady would find Chad Ochocinco with a gain of 21 yards to get to the 42 yard line.  BenJarvis Green-Ellis would then rush for a gain of 8 yards to get to the 50 yard line.  BenJarvis Green-Ellis would then break a tackle and rush for a gain of 17 yards to get down to the New York 33 yard line.  Tom Brady would then find Wes Welker with a gain of 5 yards to get to the Giants 28 yard line.  Danny Woodhead would then rush for a gain of 4 yards to get to the 24 yard line.  Then BenJarvis Green-Ellis would rush for a gain of 4 yards to get to the New York 20 yard line.  Tom Brady would then find Wes Welker with a gain of 8 yards to get to the Giants 12 yard line.  Tom Brady would then cap off the 8 play 79 yard 3:40 drive by throwing a 12 yard touchdown pass to Aaron Hernandez and with Stephen Gostkowski’s extra point the score would be (17-9) New England.  The Giants would get the ball for the first time in the half on their own 35 yard line.  Jacobs would rush for a gain of 5 yards to get to the 40 yard line.  Later Manning would find Nicks with a gain of 8 yards to get to the 49 yard line.  Bradshaw would then run up the middle for a gain of 7 yards to get to the Patriots 43 yard line.  Manning to Nicks would gain 11 more yards to get to the Patriots 32 yard line.  Laurence Tynes would later cap off the 10 play 45 yard 4:37 drive by kicking a 38 yard field goal making the score (17-12) Patriots.  The Patriots would get the ball back on their own 17 yard line.  BenJarvis Green-Ellis would rush for a gain of 2 yards to get to the 19 yard line.  Tom Brady would later be sacked causing a loss of -4 yards pushing the Patriots back to their own 15 yard line forcing them to punt.  New York would get the ball back on the New England 48 yard line.  Manning would later find Nicks with a gain of 17 yards to get to the Patriots 33 yard line.  Jacobs would then rush for 7 yards to get to the Patriots 26 yard line.  Eli Manning would later be sacked by Rob Ninkovich and Marc Anderson causing a loss of -6 yards on the play pushing the Giants back to the Patriots 32 yard line.  Laurence Tynes would cap off the 9 play 33 yard 5:01 drive by kicking a 33 yard field goal making the score (17-15) Patriots.  The Patriots would get the ball back on their own 20 yard line.  Tom Brady would later find Deion Branch with a gain of 11 yards to get to the 31 yard line.  BenJarvis Green-Ellis would then rush for 7 yards to get to the 38 yard line as the quarter came to an end.

 

Quarter Four:  BenJarvis Green-Ellis would then rush for a gain of 5 yards to get to the 43 yard line.  Tom Brady would then be intercepted giving the Giants possession on their own 8 yard line.  Bradshaw would later gain 5 yards to get to the 13 yard line.  The Patriots would later be flagged for an off sides penalty allowing the Giants to keep the drive alive at their own 16 yard line.  Manning would then find Nicks for 12 yards to get to the 28 yard line.  Later Manning would find Cruz with a gain of 7 yards to get to the 37 yard line.  Manning would then find Manningham with a gain of 12 yards to get to the New England 43 yard line.  Manning to Nicks would gain 5 more yards to get to the Patriots 38 yard line.  A false start on the Giants would later back them up to the Patriots 43 yard line.  The Giants would ultimately have to punt.  The Patriots would get the ball back on their own 8 yard line.  Tom Brady would later find Wes Welker with a gain of 5 yards to get to the 13 yard line.  Tom Brady would then find Danny Woodhead with a gain of 19 yards to get to the 32 yard line.  Later Tom Brady would find Wes Welker with a gain of 11 yards to get to the 46 yard line.  Tom Brady would later find Rob Gronkowski with a gain of 6 yards to get to the 47 yard line of the Giants.  Tom Brady would then find Aaron Hernandez with a gain of 4 yards to get to the Giants 43 yard line.  BenJarvis Green-Ellis would lose -1 yard pushing the Patriots back to the New York 44 yard line.  The Patriots would ultimately have to punt.  New York would get the ball back on their own 12 yard line.  Manning would find Manningham with a gain of 38 yards to get to the 50 yard line.  The play would be challenged by Bill Belichick but the ruling on the field would be confirmed and the Patriots would lose a time out.  Manning would find Manningham with gains of 16, and 2 yards to get the Giants to the New England 32 yard line.  Manning would then find Nicks with a gain of 18 yards to get to the Patriots 18 yard line.  Bradshaw would gain 7 yards to get to the Patriots 11 yard line.  Bradshaw would cap off the 9 play 88 yard 2:49 drive by rushing into the end zone from 6 yards out making the score (21-17) New York.  The Giants would go for the 2 point conversion and fail.  The Patriots would get the ball back on their own 20 yard line with just 0:57 left on the clock.  Tom Brady would later be sacked causing a loss of -6 yards pushing the Patriots back to their own 14 yard line.  The Patriots would go for it on 4th & 16 from their own 14 yard line and make it as Tom Brady would find Deion Branch with a gain of 19 yards to get to the 33 yard line.  Tom Brady would then find Aaron Hernandez with a gain of 11 yards to get to the 44 yard line.  A 12 men on the field for the Giants on defense penalty would give the Patriots a chance at the 49 yard line.  With 0:05 left on the clock, the last play of the season would be a Tom Brady pass of 51 yards into the end zone that Aaron Hernandez would just come up short getting.  The incomplete pass would preserve the Giants (21-17) victory.  For the Patriots, it was so close.  And the Patriots had a wonderful season.  It has been a pleasure as a fan to follow this team.  We love our New England Patriots and look forward to training camp in July.  Go Pats!
